In cooperation with the psychology department of the University of Cologne, the LMR is investigating the workings of nonverbal communication. The authoring framework and interaction components for expressive interactive 3d characters for psychological research and application scenarios allow for a variety of appearances, dynamic motions and intelligent behaviour of an avatar. Different aspects of communication are being simulated and investigated separately.
